The large-scale food court covering a space of about 3,500m² is based on the two concepts of Japan Dining which recreates a Japanese atmosphere and World Dining where 12 restaurants provide cuisine from around the world with open kitchens.

Japan Dining which provides Japanese cuisine has the Japanese style atmosphere "Wa (harmony)" of a townhouse.
Seats are placed around the center area designed after an arched bridge and riverbed becoming the symbol of the food court.
There are miniature gardens around the food court which give off the sensation of Japan’s four seasons.

<World Dining >

World Dining is based on the concept of a resort hotel.
The island kitchen area is placed in the center and the open dining kitchen provides the live sensation from every seat.
In addition, there is a seating area based off a resort villa and a window seating area based off a restaurant with a sunset view.

  • The open ceiling handrails are higher than normal handrails at 1.4m on all floors in order to prevent people, especially children from sticking body parts out and falling or dropping items.
  • Consideration is taken to provide peace of mind for the customer’s health with one separate smoking room being established to prevent second-hand smoke.

2. Initiatives in Disaster Protection and High level of Security

  • There are security cameras set everywhere underground, in the parking lot (ground level, third floor and rooftop) and in the mall in order for the customer to have peace of mind while shopping.
    Considerations are taken in both crime prevention and disaster protection so the customer can have a relaxed shopping experience.
  • Disaster prevention and crime prevention are reinforced through monitoring using security patrol and a card-key system inside and outside the mall.
  • There are employees monitoring the escalators to prevent accidents.

AEON MALL Phnom Penh is saving energy by reducing CO2 through using LED in signs and lighting along with inverter controls in air conditioning as initiatives to preserve the environment.

1. Initiatives related to the Environment and Energy Saving

  • Solar Power Equipment
    The solar cell modules cover 1,270m² of the motorcycle parking lot roof (crystal solar cell modules) and 410m² of the Terrace Avenue pathway by see-through type (see-through thin film crystal solar cell modules) for a total of 1,680m² which produces a maximum of about 225kw.
    This power is used for lighting and air conditioning inside the mall.
  • Active Usage of LED Equipment
    LED lighting is used in place of tubes such as conventional fluorescent lighting in common areas of the mall, outdoor lighting and outdoor signs to reduce energy consumption and control CO2 emissions.
  • Introducing Environmental Initiatives and Educational Activities
    Eco Stations will be set up on the ground and second floors to share information about initiatives this mall takes towards preserving the environment.
    These stations will educate customers on environmental preservation.

Other Initiatives in ECO friendly facilities

  • Restrooms on 1st Floor and 2nd Floor are designed with a window to have natural sunlight to save the lighting energy during the daytime.

    The entrance and main mall aims to create an area which harmonizes with the region by incorporating designs and local characteristics using Cambodian silk produced by local NGO factories.

    The second floor Restaurant Zone has a tenant façade which is moved back and the seats are set in the shared pathway making for a spacious appearance.
  • Greenery Project
    Trees and plants are raised everywhere like in front of stores in addition to the AEON Greenery Area.
    This creates a charming green environment.
  • AEON HALL
    The AEON HALL with a space of about 250m² is on the first floor of the mall.
    This area can be used as a place for all local groups and circles to carry out activities such as exhibitions and performances.

  • Tree Planting Event "AEON Hometown Forest Program"
    AEON holds the tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" to plant young trees which are indigenous to the region and carefully grow these trees inside the facilities as a part of environmental preservation carried out with local customers and social contribution activities.

The tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" was held on March 22nd, 2014 (Sat) at AEON Mall Phnom Penh and succeeded in planting around 10,000 trees indigenous to Cambodia such as the species of plant in the Dipterocarpaceae family "Kouki" and Tropical tree called "Chheu Teal" over an area of about 3,000m² with the residents of Cambodia.
The total amount of trees planted by the AEON Environmental Foundation and the tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" reached 10 million trees last year.

  • Guide Signs and Spatial Presentation
    The parking lots will be separated into color zones and zone display signs will be displayed in order for customers to find their parking space with ease.
  • Information Counter
    The Information Counter has staff members on standby to give guidance so customers can smoothly reach their destination in the spacious mall.
    This counter provides services to customers such as a place for lost children to go, a lost and found and wheelchairs on loan in addition to facility maps.

2. Comfortable Facilities which anyone can Use with reassurance

  • Public Bathrooms and Kid’s Bathrooms
    Public bathrooms are in three areas (one on each floor). In addition, Kid’s bathrooms are set up from the ground floor to the second floor exclusively for children with kid-sized toilets and sinks.

    The Baby Room has nursing rooms is on the second floor.
  • AED Equipment
    AED (automatic external defibrillator) equipment is placed in the Information Counter and Disaster Control Center. In addition, training is given to employees such as classes to provide support during emergencies.
  • Benches
    There are rest spaces placed all over the mall (cushioned benches, etc.) to provide relaxation.
  • Powder Rooms
    There is a powder room corner in the women’s bathrooms so women can enjoy shopping while looking stylish.
  • Barrier Free Design
    The barrier free design removes all differences in levels in the mall so all customers can walk with ease including the elderly and disabled.
  • Wheelchairs and Character Push Carts on Loan
    Wheelchairs are on loan at the Information Center so the disabled and elderly can tour the mall with ease.
    In addition, character push carts are provided for children so they can have fun while touring the mall.
  • Parking Lot Design
    The parking lot with a roof in the above-ground first floor parking lot has about 170 spaces to avoid rain on rainy days and direct sunlight on sunny days.
  • Handicap Parking Spaces
    Nine handicap parking spaces which are the first of their kind for shopping centers in Cambodia are provided close to the entrance for those with disabilities.
    The parking spaces are more spacious than normal spaces enabling parking with ease and a roof for comfortable visits on rainy days.

  • The Dream Girls Project shop wakana which offers design jobs to Cambodian women is opening its first location here. This select shop offers reasonable items such as pouches designed by Cambodian women.

Sweets Zone

This zone brings together sweets from around the world in a relaxed and soft atmosphere produced by mosaic tiles with images of sweets on them. Each store has a completely open customer-facing counter to enable light-hearted communication with customers.
In addition to the design which enables light-hearted communication with customers, there is a large area with an eat-in space created to enjoy the sweets.

  • The ice cream shop SWENSEN’S along with shops from ASEAN including Secret Recipe from Malaysia and Ya Kun Kaya Toast from Singapore as well as Sticky from Australia which is famous for demonstration sales of candy are opening their first locations here.
  • From Japan, the cream puff store beard papa’s and Ginno An from Gindako’s taiyaki business are opening their first locations here.
  • The café and restaurant Eric Kayser Restaurant bakery Paris and bakery shop Eric Kayser Café Bakery Paris which are popular high class genuine French bakeries which use natural yeast and traditional techniques will open their first locations here and from Korea, the bakery shop TOUS les JOURS which is popular in Phnom Penh will open its flagship shop here.
  • In addition, The Pizza Company and KFC which are very popular fast food restaurants in Phnom Penh will open up locations here.

Open Café Zone "Terrace Avenue"

This area holds restaurants which are popular for dining during the afternoon and serve as nighttime bars at night in the city-center mall.

  • The first location of the wine specialty shop KHEMA is located in the main entrance.
    In addition, Brown Coffee and Bakery which is one of the most popular coffee chains in Cambodia along with the wine bistro restaurant FOX Wine Bistro in the Brown Coffee and Bakery Group will open locations here based on new concepts.
  • The local brewery MUNICH Fresh Beer will open a restaurant serving local beers.
    In addition, the steak specialty restaurant The Original Steakhouse will open its first location here.
  • From Japan, the izakaya Watami which has numerous locations overseas will open Watami Japanese Dining as its first Japanese style restaurant in Cambodia.
    The Italian restaurant VITO Pizzaria Bar which is popular as a gelato shop in Fukuoka and the yakitori izakaya HOTYA from Hotland which is famous for Gindako are also opening their first locations here.
  • In the service corner, the travel agency HIS which offers various vacation packages in conjunction with direct flights from Japan which are scheduled in the near future will open its first location here.
    The Japanese style dry-cleaner LAUNDRY STORE iClean will also open its first location here.

The first floor consists of the Lifestyle Zone, Beauty Zone and Kids Zone.

Lifestyle Zone

  • From Japan, the electronic goods store Nojima will open its first location which offers cutting-edge items such as digital devices with Japanese style service focusing on cellular phones and large household appliances which are gaining popularity in Cambodia.
    In addition, the famous 100 yen shop DAISO JAPAN will open its first location here.

The atmosphere of this area has a color scheme which displays refined cosmetic items in a more attractive manner and a high-quality image based on indirect lighting.

  • There are numerous cosmetic makers from South Korea including THE FACE SHOP, VDL, Holika Holika, TONY MOLY, too cool for school, SKIN FOOD and the SAEM in this area. DHC from Japan is also opening a location here.

Kids Zone

  • In the Kids Zone, the large-scale amusement facility for children KIDS PARK will open a location here. Kids goods will be sold in this area including Combi from Japan which is opening its first location in Cambodia here along with Toys & Me and Monument Toys which are popular toy shops in Cambodia. In kid’s fashion, NECK & NECK from Spain and Château de sable from France will open locations here.

In addition, there are cafés where customers can take breaks in between shopping on this floor.

  • The Major Cineplex Group which is one of the largest cinema chains in ASEAN is opening Cambodia’s largest cinema with 7 screens, the Major Platinum Cineplex as a sub-anchor of AEON MALL Phnom Penh.

Food Court

The large-scale food court covering a space of about 3,500m² is based on the two concepts of Japan Dining which recreates a Japanese atmosphere and World Dining where 12 restaurants provide cuisine from around the world with open kitchens.

Japan Dining which provides Japanese cuisine has the Japanese style atmosphere "Wa (harmony)" of a townhouse.
Seats are placed around the center area designed after an arched bridge and riverbed becoming the symbol of the food court.
There are miniature gardens around the food court which give off the sensation of Japan’s four seasons.

<World Dining >

World Dining is based on the concept of a resort hotel.
The island kitchen area is placed in the center and the open dining kitchen provides the live sensation from every seat.
In addition, there is a seating area based off a resort villa and a window seating area based off a restaurant with a sunset view.
Customers can come here with their families, on dates or with whomever they like and enjoy a slightly luxurious resort-like atmosphere.

3F: International School & Restaurants

  • The school Advance Learning Academy will open on the third floor.
    This school provides new experiences for children such as a dance school, a cooking school, and English school and a kid’s gym.
  • In addition, the large-scale restaurant FINCH which is famous in Hokkaido for restaurant weddings will open its first location here covering about 500m².

  • The open ceiling handrails are higher than normal handrails at 1.4m on all floors in order to prevent people, especially children from sticking body parts out and falling or dropping items.
  • Consideration is taken to provide peace of mind for the customer’s health with one separate smoking room being established to prevent second-hand smoke.

  • There are security cameras set everywhere underground, in the parking lot (ground level, third floor and rooftop) and in the mall in order for the customer to have peace of mind while shopping.

1. Initiatives related to the Environment and Energy Saving

  • Solar Power Equipment
    The solar cell modules cover 1,270m² of the motorcycle parking lot roof (crystal solar cell modules) and 410m² of the Terrace Avenue pathway by see-through type (see-through thin film crystal solar cell modules) for a total of 1,680m² which produces a maximum of about 225kw.
    This power is used for lighting and air conditioning inside the mall.
  • Active Usage of LED Equipment
    LED lighting is used in place of tubes such as conventional fluorescent lighting in common areas of the mall, outdoor lighting and outdoor signs to reduce energy consumption and control CO2 emissions.
  • Introducing Environmental Initiatives and Educational Activities
    Eco Stations will be set up on the ground and second floors to share information about initiatives this mall takes towards preserving the environment.
    These stations will educate customers on environmental preservation.

Other Initiatives in ECO friendly facilities

  • Restrooms on 1st Floor and 2nd Floor are designed with a window to have natural sunlight to save the lighting energy during the daytime.

    The entrance and main mall aims to create an area which harmonizes with the region by incorporating designs and local characteristics using Cambodian silk produced by local NGO factories.
  • Restaurant Zone
    The second floor Restaurant Zone has a tenant façade which is moved back and the seats are set in the shared pathway making for a spacious appearance.
  • Greenery Project
    Trees and plants are raised everywhere like in front of stores in addition to the AEON Greenery Area.
    This creates a charming green environment.
  • AEON HALL
    The AEON HALL with a space of about 250m² is on the first floor of the mall.
    This area can be used as a place for all local groups and circles to carry out activities such as exhibitions and performances.

  • Tree Planting Event "AEON Hometown Forest Program"
    AEON holds the tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" to plant young trees which are indigenous to the region and carefully grow these trees inside the facilities as a part of environmental preservation carried out with local customers and social contribution activities.

The tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" was held on March 22nd, 2014 (Sat) at AEON Mall Phnom Penh and succeeded in planting around 10,000 trees indigenous to Cambodia such as the species of plant in the Dipterocarpaceae family "Kouki" and Tropical tree called "Chheu Teal" over an area of about 3,000m² with the residents of Cambodia.
The total amount of trees planted by the AEON Environmental Foundation and the tree planting event "AEON Hometown Forest Program" reached 10 million trees last year.

1. Smooth Guidance for Customers

  • Guide Signs and Spatial Presentation
    The parking lots will be separated into color zones and zone display signs will be displayed in order for customers to find their parking space with ease.
  • Information Counter
    The Information Counter has staff members on standby to give guidance so customers can smoothly reach their destination in the spacious mall.
    This counter provides services to customers such as a place for lost children to go, a lost and found and wheelchairs on loan in addition to facility maps.

2. Comfortable Facilities which anyone can Use with reassurance

  • Public Bathrooms and Kid’s Bathrooms
    Public bathrooms are in three areas (one on each floor). In addition, Kid’s bathrooms are set up from the ground floor to the second floor exclusively for children with kid-sized toilets and sinks.
  • Baby Room
    The Baby Room has nursing rooms is on the second floor.
  • AED Equipment
    AED (automatic external defibrillator) equipment is placed in the Information Counter and Disaster Control Center. In addition, training is given to employees such as classes to provide support during emergencies.
  • Benches
    There are rest spaces placed all over the mall (cushioned benches, etc.) to provide relaxation.
  • Powder Rooms
    There is a powder room corner in the women’s bathrooms so women can enjoy shopping while looking stylish.
  • Barrier Free Design
    The barrier free design removes all differences in levels in the mall so all customers can walk with ease including the elderly and disabled.
  • Wheelchairs and Character Push Carts on Loan
    Wheelchairs are on loan at the Information Center so the disabled and elderly can tour the mall with ease.
    In addition, character push carts are provided for children so they can have fun while touring the mall.
  • Parking Lot Design
    The parking lot with a roof in the above-ground first floor parking lot has about 170 spaces to avoid rain on rainy days and direct sunlight on sunny days.
  • Handicap Parking Spaces
    Nine handicap parking spaces which are the first of their kind for shopping centers in Cambodia are provided close to the entrance for those with disabilities.
    The parking spaces are more spacious than normal spaces enabling parking with ease and a roof for comfortable visits on rainy days.
